Saudi Banned Unauthorized Vehicles Into Holy Cities

Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior has implant new regulations, including this announcement of Banned Unauthorized Vehicles until the end of hajj season for 2025

Beginning Sunday afternoon and lasting until the last day of the Hajj season, the Hajj Security Forces have declared that unapproved cars and motorcycles are not permitted to access the sacred sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, also referred to as the Mashair. The Makkah Governorate has affirmed that the decision to control traffic and provide easy mobility during the trip is now in force, according to the Sabaq website.

According to the governorate, the ban on unapproved cars is meant to keep traffic moving and avoid congestion in the places of worship. During this time, only individuals with specific permits will be permitted to drive cars or motorcycles inside Makkah and the sacred locations.

The authorities emphasized that obtaining an official permit is mandatory for any vehicle or motorcycle entering Makkah and the Mashair zones. This measure is part of broader security and logistical preparations to facilitate the safe and orderly movement of millions of pilgrims performing Hajj rituals.

The Hajj season witnesses an enormous influx of worshippers, making traffic management crucial for preventing accidents and ensuring efficient transportation. By enforcing this ban, officials aim to reduce unauthorized vehicular movement, which often leads to disruptions and delays.

Pilgrims and visitors have been advised to comply with the regulations and use authorized transport services to avoid penalties. The Hajj Security Forces will intensify monitoring and inspections to enforce the ban effectively.

This decision aligns with Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts to enhance Hajj operations, ensuring a safe and spiritually fulfilling experience for all pilgrims. The government has implemented several advanced measures in recent years, including smart traffic systems and expanded public transport networks, to streamline the pilgrimage process.

In conclusion, the restriction on unauthorized vehicles underscores the importance of discipline and organization during Hajj. Pilgrims are urged to follow official guidelines and cooperate with authorities to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey.
