Saudi Update About Vehicle Inspection Fee

Saudi Arabian government has responded to rumors that circulate on social media regarding the change in vehicle inspection fee from 115 to 91 saudi riyals, saying that the rumors are totally baseless and there is no such change in vehicle inspection fee

In Saudi Arabia, vehicle and road safety in compliance with the law is managed using an annual vehicle inspection system which is supervised by Fahs Al-Douri. Not too long ago, social media had some vehicle owners and customers confused as there were rumors on Fahs fees and rules changes. Despite social media stir, the authorities made it very clear that no changes have been made to the existing inspection parameters.

The inspection department of Fahs Al-Douri also addressed the issue of social media rumor and clarified in a statement that private car owners are to bring their vehicles for the first round of checking three years following their registration and then on a yearly basis thereafter.

Public transport vehicles such as Taxis undergo their first test two years post registration, while buses wait a year – followed by annual checkups. Also any and every citizen is free to admire freedom, but only from an authorized platform, and beyond that they should keep their mouths shut — this is not unverified information or a social swipe.

Other claims included the inspection fee being reduced or increased by a few pennies – something that the officials discredited on the spot confirming that the fee stays cemented at 115 Saudi Riyals. Most people clients admit to getting lost in the rush of social media claiming policies that boarder daily mundane tasks—but amidst all that misinformation spreads like wildfire on social media.
